Fall ride to Bayfield

The ride that was on Oct.1 2011,R/G Tim Nashton,R/C Brian Stabenow,went to the beautiful Bayfield area.


The morning temp was 31 degrees depending on where You were or which weather forcast that was heard or seen.It was a very fall day.Grass was white with frost,sun was shining,showing the fall colors,and the Blue Hills HOG group was heading north,11 bikes and 13 People.The first stop was Hayward for fuel ,hot coffee,etc.Winding Our way on County roads and State Highways stopping at the Traveler Center on Hwy 2.Very nice place,a history/information center and a obsevation tower.Riding on to the Washburn State fish hatchery,Tim gave Us an overview of the Hatchery.Tim works at the Spooner fish hatchery.Time for lunch.Bayfield was the place to eat.Being such a nice day Bayfield was busy.The first lunch choice was over a half hour wait.Tim was getting info from a second choice when a pizza delivery Person showed up in the parking lot making a delivery .A hungry group of bikers and hot food?? He gladly gave up and told Kathy where the resturaunt was.Outside seating,a nice waitress and all ate good food.Parking in the Marina parking lot gave Us a beautiful view of the lake and sail boats.Taking the scenic route back to the Rice Lake area ,now a nice warm fall day,finished the ride.Thanks to Tim for a great fall ride.
